Drive Across the US Day 4

Well there isn't too much to say about today. We had to drive in Kentucky due to road closures and flooding so Kentucky welcomed us and then Iowa welcomed us back, and then finally South Dakota welcomed us.

There was lots more flooding to be seen before we left Iowa and we even drove through this bit of road that as we got to it, had a sign that said "water covering roadway". Luckly by the time we arrived at that spot, the road crews had sand-bagged the crud out of that stretch. I took a pic of the Missouri as we crossed it and you can see how truly high it is.

Now as far as South Dakota goes...there is really nothing there but God's beautiful countryside and a few roadside attractions. (At least off of i90) The only roadside attraction that we got out of the car and walked around at was Wall Drug in the town of Wall, South Dakota.

This picture makes Wall Drug look small but it's not. Look it up. The street that it sits on reminds me of St. George Street in St. Augustine, minus the fact that you can drive on it. :)

Aside from seeing the country how am I feeling? Well it was a yucky day of feeling a bit nauseous. I think that the biggest problem was that I didn't eat a good breakfast. I was doing pretty good again by lunch, but then for dinner we went to Chili's and I just couldn't eat. I took a bite of the sandwhich and a bite of the salad that I had ordered, but I felt lucky to be able to swallow them. Of course when Jonny ran through McDonald's getting a plain icecream sounded ok and it was...this kid is going to be the death of me. I'd like to be able to eat a regular meal at dinner time. I think Jonny is getting used to this, but at first he was like "Sure...you can't eat dinner but you can eat dessert (thick tone in his voice and all)." Anyway...tomorrow I will eat a better breakfast! :o)
