Visitors

My mom arrived on Wednesday Feb 8th and I am so glad that Caroline listened to me and held out till her Grandmama got here. Mom was such an amazing coach and was a huge help when we got home. I fully believe that she is the reason that I was only in the hospital for 6 hours before Caroline was born and why I was able to give birth naturally. Caroline absolutely loves her Grandmama and spent lots of time in her arms having some good conversations. :)

I wish Jonny could have been there for her birth, but I am thankful that I was able to e-mail him pictures and that he was able to call. The other Momsen (Jonny's ship) wives were great about making sure to get the word to the ship and the command master chief made sure that Jonny knew that I was at the hospital. Obviously not ideal...but it's our life right now.

Jonny's mom Elizabeth made the trip to Washington and came by a couple of days to meet Caroline and spend a little bit of time with her. I was so glad that she was able to come and meet her granddaughter. It meant a lot to me.

My sister is here now. I was so excited to see her and am really enjoying my time with her. Caroline absolutely loves her Aunt Elan.

I feel so blessed the my mom and my sister have been so willing to put their lives on hold for a week or two to come and help me since Jonny couldn't be here.

Introducing Caroline Marie Rose Ruoss

Here she is...

Caroline Marie Rose Ruoss
Born on February 11, 2012
She was 10lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long

I am madly in love. :)

Jonny picked the name Caroline (pronounced Caro-line...not Caro-lynn) and I love it. It suits her just perfectly. :)

SNOW!

Florida Girl Alert!!!

It's Snowing and it's been snowing for the last three days. Its supposed to end sometime this afternoon. I still stand with my opinion that my second favorite part of visiting snow in the mountains was getting to leave it there when we headed home.

But I suppose I have to admit, it is pretty.

Here's a little video of the snow this morning....only a floridian would record the snow falling....just in case you've never seen snow fall before. ;o)

If the snow stops for a little while I might just take Duke out again to play. He had some much fun playing in it yesterday. :) More photos or videos to come. :)

Well...Just four short weeks to go!

Hello! Long time no blog! Well we've made it to the final stretch. Just four short weeks away. I'm definitley feeling the effects of nearing the end of pregnancy. The middle section of time was great though. I feel blessed to have been able to enjoy most of this facinating experience.

Since I'm getting close to my delivery date my friend Sarah (she works at the Y with me) decided that we should go to the mountains today (since most of the snow will be gone by April). Of course she was over prepared in case anything might happen, but I'm sitting here now to say that nothing did. :) She took me to this small Bavarian town called Leavenworth. It is totally a tourist spot, but it is super cute and I got to see lots of snow on the way.

The thing is, I have never actually seen snow in all of its glory (I say glory because I don't have to "deal" with it). I have seen snow falling but melting as soon as it hits the ground and I have seen snow that had already turned to ice. Today however, I got to see the good stuff. I even built my first snowman. Can't wait till next year when Jonny and I can go tubing together. :)

Here's some pics from today:

This is the friend that took me. :o)
